Dzingel (4 x 4.5), Ceci
FOR
Puljujarvi, Russell, 2nd |
|
|
|
Dzingel, Ceci
For
Pulijarvi and 2019 1st
I realize that’s not ideal, but chiarelli is a complete tool (prob the only GM worst than dorion)
I don’t think he’s made a single move since arriving in Edm that could be considered a win. I honestly think he would do that.....and think he won the deal. |

Dzingel, Ceci and Ryan
for
Yamo, Lucic and Russell |

A. That would be a good move by chiarelli, we all know he’s incapable of that
B. That would mean Ottawa takes on MORE money, we all know melnyk is incapable of that.
C. It means that another team takes on Lucic and that contract.....NOBODY is doing that. Lucic is an Oiler for life. I’d take Ryan and his contract all day every day over Lucic.
Ryan - 7.25 mil for 3 more years, on pace for about 18 goals and 50 pts.
Lucic - 6 mil for 5 more years, on pace for about 7 goals and 20 points.
No brainer. |

True on all points made, but my scenario is far more likely to happen than Ceci getting a 1st round pick...
Don't get me wrong if it happens then I can only imagine what Gudas could fetch, 1st and a prospect then? Woah baby awesome sauce. |

Cody Ceci is a legit top 4D man on a contending team. He isn't a good fit in Ottawa and needs a change of scenery. Ceci has a skillset, including skating, that Gudas doesn't have.
Ceci would fit perfectly on a team that actually has top pairing D-men (SJ, NSH, TB, etc)
Edm has Larsson Klefbolm so it wouldn't be all on Cody to go out and log 22-24m |

Ummmm....it is the complete opposite. Gudas is a much better skater than Ceci, that's why Ceci is so bad because he skates like he is carrying rocks in his pants. Even Luke Schenn laughs at him. |

Ceci is barely a top six d on the worst defensive team in the league, but you somehow think he’ll be top 4 on a team with actual good dmen???????
The guy is, statistically speaking, a bottom 10 dman in the entire league.....he’s garbage. He’s not one of the 6 best dmen in a d that includes Harpur, borowiecki, and Falk. He gets big minutes, but that speaks to the incompetence of coaching and management, not his ability to play hockey. |

We will all wake up tommorow, and Chia pet will have signed Marty Mcscorley and Todd Bertuzzi to PTO's, and trade Connor for a first, and Chris prongers and Nathan Hortons dead weight contracts. |

Oh, I don’t think he’s worth a 1st. I think Dzingel is worth a 1st and I think chiarelli (and only him) is stupid enough to give up pulijarvi for Ceci. |

Hard pass. If you take Spooner, then it's close, but the team can't afford to take on any cap (current or future) without some going back. |

C'mon. I want to trade the guy too, but none of the guys you listed can play 22 mins in the NHL and score 25 points in a season.
Every single D-man on Ottawa is playing out of their spot. I think he still has all the ability to be a 2nd pairing guy (4th Dman) on a contender. No question.
It's his hockey sense and chemistry that is affecting him more so than his abilities.
With Boro, he's a solid defensive dman but doesn't belong in the top 4 ever. |

Hmmm interesting take. Now that you put it that way...
Trying to pull a JvR for Luke Schenn or Hall for Larsson. Ok your offer is acceptable knowing Chia is dumb enough to do it twice. |

That's a pretty good sales job there, I am going to borrow it for Andrew MacDonald. |

He’s already done it more than once.....
Eberle for strome
Seguin for a bag of pucks
Hall for larsson
Wheeler for peverly
The only trade he’s ever won was the Jessel trade, but he turned around and pissed away all of those assets with nothing to show for it.
IMO he’s one of the 3 worst GMs in history (or at least since expansion):
Chiarelli, milbury, nonis |

Dude, he’s (frank)ing awful, and you’re blind if you can’t see it. No matter who he plays against he gets DOMINATED and hemmed in his own end. Every partner he’s ever had has been better statistically away from him than with him.
He put up decent points once, when gonchar was his partner. Even then he was still a train wreck in his own end.
Give it up man. The guy SUCKS and nothing you say will convince anyone that he doesn’t. |

Agreed and everyone knows about Chia's past, but the same can be said about Dorion as well (obviously not as bad). Edmonton isn't the only team in the league, if you think other teams will be going off Edmonton's past experience you will be disappointed again. Many teams have learned from the stupidity of the Flyers with the Luke Schenn trade and will more likely do everything to avoid doing the same. |

If your trading commodities you always want to find the market and timing that matches peak demand for your product. I think Edmonton is a possibility. But, I think the best potential for the best return on Stone, Duchene and Dzingle is to deal them directly into the teeth of their own Conference.
The teams to look at are the Bruins, Canadiens, Islanders and Sabres. The Penguins and Blue Jackets might also be buyers.
Willingness to trade directly into your own Conference increases demand and that is always good. |

Ya, 37 hockey players play more than he does but ya, he must be garbage.
don't get me wrong, I'm not buying a ceci jersey if it's 75% off, but the guy is still an asset whether your able to listen or not. |

Wait you judge a player by how much they play?
Update: That's what I thought, Luke Schenn played 21+ and 22+ in Toronto.
So basically swap out Toronto with Ottawa and Luke Schenn with Cody Ceci and the comparison is complete. |

That is like saying Russell is a top 4 D because the Oil constantly play him there, and he averages over 20 min per night; and that would be horribly incorrect. Russell is a decent/good bottom pairing guy. I would much rather have Russell than Ceci. Ceci is Manning level of bad at the hockey. |

Had to fix it, not a fan of Manning and he never played many minutes, but he at least provided a little something twice a year. |

I think Dzingel could easily fetch a first, but I don't know if on a team like Edmonton that may miss the playoffs. It's chia though so who knows.
Man, him and Mcdavid would be a fast as hell line. |

I mean, he IS capable of top-4 play but may be BETTER suited to bottom pairing play. He's certainly not completely out of his element the way Ceci is. A player doesn't consistently positively or neutrally impact his team's GF% (excluding last year) while playing top-4 minutes and an equal proportion of minutes against the opposition's best without being a capable (but flawed) top-4 Dman. |
